Year 2025; African American Day Parade in HARLEM
September 20th , 2025 Harlem SHOWED UP & SHOWED OUT for the African American Day Parade.
Throughout Harlem the community was seen smiling, laughing, rejoicing, and enjoying the elaborate festivities.
Large numbers of Labor Unions community organizations and others were not only present but prevalent in their engagements during the parade proudly promenading through Harlem with an array of energy celebrating African American history, heritage and culture.
Notably present during the celebration include figures such as NYC City Council, Senators, Borough Presidents and Honorable Reverend Al Sharpton all figures that have made a tremendous impact throughout NYC including precious dear Harlem.
2025 Honorees included GRAND MARSHAL Sandra Bookman (Anchor, Eyewitness News, ABC7/WABC-TV New York), CELEBRITY GRAND MARSHAL Karyn White (Multi-platinum selling recording artist, film producer, actress, cultural icon), MARSHALS Jean Jeanty (Principal of Pugsley Preparatory Academy Bronx, NY), Francina Yaw-Costello (Principal, Amber Charter School, Inwood), Dr. Shawn Brown (Principal of Uniondale Highschool Uniondale, NY), Dr. Tony Allen (President of Delaware State University), Dr. Patricia Ramsey (President of Medgar Evers College), Dr. Martin Lemelle Jr. (President of Grambling State University), Dr. Bob Lee (Radio Personality & Community Affairs Director WBLS, 107.5 FM Founder & CEO of Make The Grade Foundation ), and Joy Bivins (Director of The Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture).
The Harlem community during the parade was cheerfully and certainly uplifted, the youth present were an astounding joy to see rejoicing, dancing and performing talent including musical marching band performance in part reminiscent of the infamous dancing dolls and Universoul Circus was engaged with their elaborate circus performance flare including stilt walker, as well as traditionally vaudeville acrobatics.
