Stronger Together: An Interfaith Conversation About Harlem

HNBA members and the greater Harlem community are invited to Stronger Together: An Interfaith Conversation About Harlem, an evening designed to bring neighbors together around the issues and opportunities affecting our community.

Hosted by Rev. Jay Sunberg and Rev. Teanna Sunberg of Mission New York, the gathering will bring together faith leaders, nonprofit organizations, community leaders and Harlem residents to share a meal, listen to one another and explore practical ways we can work together to strengthen our community.

The conversation will touch on issues including workforce development, economic opportunity and immigration, with an emphasis on hearing different perspectives, identifying gaps and exploring opportunities for meaningful collaboration.

You do not need to be affiliated with a faith community to participate. If you live, work, serve or care about Harlem, your voice and perspective are welcome at the table.

The evening is part of Breaking Bread Together, a national initiative in partnership with ACT NOW, and will feature special guest David Beasley, former Governor of South Carolina and former Executive Director of the United Nations World Food Programme.

Sometimes meaningful change begins with something as simple as sitting down together, sharing a meal and listening to one another. This gathering offers our Harlem community an opportunity to do just that.

Dinner will be served, with Kosher, Halal and gluten-free options available.
