HNBA Monthly Meeting – 10/21 with Kulsoom Tapal, Manhattan Borough Manager with the Mayor's Office of Engagement

HNBA is back from our summer break, and we're kicking off our first community meeting with a conversation that East Harlem residents will not want to miss.

We are pleased to welcome Kulsoom Tapal, Manhattan Borough Manager with the Mayor's Office of Mass Engagement, who will speak with us about Organize NYC and the City's efforts to help tenants understand their rights and organize with their neighbors for cleaner, safer and better-maintained homes.

But we also want this meeting to be a two-way conversation.

East Harlem has concerns that extend beyond what happens inside our apartment buildings. What is happening on our blocks? What are residents, seniors, families, small businesses and young people experiencing? What needs greater attention from City Hall?

This is an opportunity for our community to speak directly and constructively about the issues affecting our quality of life — and for Ms. Tapal to hear firsthand what East Harlem residents believe the Mayor and his administration need to know.

Come informed. Come with your questions. Come with your concerns. And, whenever possible, come with ideas for solutions.

We want Ms. Tapal to leave our meeting with a clear understanding of what matters to East Harlem and what our community believes needs attention and action.
