Communities NOT Cages … the message resounds in Harlem as organizations and political leaders gathered in Harlem on Edgecombe Ave at Edgecombe Correctional Facility in solidarity against mass incarceration.

Supporting bills including; The Earned Time Act, The Second Look Act, The Marvin Mayfield Act community members and elected officials gather and organize in Harlem New YorK to address the important issues surrounding incarceration seeking solutions for the betterment of the community with demands to meet the needs of justice reform and systemic incarceration.

Honoring Robert Brooks a prisoner at Marcy Correctional Facility, Robert Brooks is known to have been brutally beaten by correction officers leading to his death.

Harlem continues to organize, Harlem continues to stand strong and Harlem continues to to exemplify community efforts to restore humanity.

Engaging in the State wide Day of Action many organizations including Community Alternatives whose mission includes supporting and building power within people across New York State whose lives have been effective by mass incarceration criminalization and community disinvestment joined by other organizations and government offices in what sees as efforts to include inkind retribution.
