Community Enriches Activations at Malcom X Plaza in Harlem

Great news for Harlem as Omega Psi Phi's Epsilon Chapter in New York City partnered Divine Nine Black Greek-letter fraternities and sororities (Harlem D9 (representing the)).

Regarding civic engagement at Harlem’s Malcom X Plaza Groups like the Epsilon Chapter of Omega Psi Pho fraternity have hosted community civic engagement activities including voter registration in addition to education events at the plaza beautifully positioned within one block radius of Central Park’s David Meer Center, the Charles A. Dana Discovery Center, Harlem Meer Storied park’s Lakeside Recreation Spot body of water and very few meters from the peaceful serenity of the Central Park Conservatory.

Recently supporting initiatives to bolster voter engagement; Malcom X Plaza in Harlem is activated and active, as a vivacious extension of a vivid and vibrant diligent Harlem community.

Elected local officials in the past have engaged at Malcom X Plaza and it is truly a joy amongst Harlem to have such a special nook in the “City that Never Sleeps” cranny.

After earlier acknowledgments of Malcom X Plaza honorably mentioned the plaza is an activation.

The renaming of the Subway was made official when Governor Kathy Hochul signed state legislation S1204/A5339 into law. Key figures involved in the subway renaming and beyond include Senator Cordell Cleare Assemblyman Jordan Wright, community leaders and the family of Malcolm X.

Malcom X Plaza located on 111th St. at Lenox Ave. expects to host cultural events at the plaza to use for meaningful community gatherings, festivals, cultural events, and regular summer events.

The subway station below Malcom X Plaza reveals a beautiful profound mosaic of art including the lived words of Message from Malcom: “I lived in Egypt. I stayed Egypt, and I was among brothers I felt the spirit of brotherhood”.
