The Twelfth Ward Bank

The problem with looking up at the architecture at the corner of Lex/125 is most people are so focused on navigating the street scene, that it’s rare when you feel confident enough in your path, to notice 100 year old faded signs.

The building on the north-east corner of Lex/125 was The Twelfth Ward Bank and if you look on the 125th Street side, you can see the dates 1886 and 1894 in roundels above an arched entryway.

Further to the left, facing the old Pathmark site, is this faded sign:

Around the corner, on Lexington, there are two more of these ghost signs:
