OlaRonke Akinmowo, creator and director of the Free Black Women’s Library, invites all New York City–based Black women, femme, and nonbinary established and emerging writers to apply to join Obsidian: A Black Womanist Writers Collective.

This one-year commitment (September 2023–September 2024) includes monthly meetings, writing workshops, field trips, and participation in Akinmowo’s first collaborative book project, to be published by The Met as part of her two-year Civic Practice Partnership artist residency.
